Dunkin’ Donuts operator closes brand’s largest-ever franchise sale
Dunkin’ Donuts has announced that one of the chain’s largest Chicago-area operators recently completed agreements to sell its 67 stores to seven other buyer groups. Terms were not disclosed, but a press release said the deal is the largest in the brand’s 67-year history.
New Jersey law firm, Marks & Klein LLP, represented the seller; Paris Ackerman LLP represented the buyers in what one attorney said was a complicated, but winning, deal.
“This is a historic deal, and one that we are extremely proud to have worked on with an incredibly talented and committed team of deal-makers on all sides,” Paris Ackerman attorney David Paris said in the release. The entirety of this deal took a lot of focus and discipline to follow the process, with everyone working efficiently and negotiating to all our satisfaction.”
From start to finish, the sale of the 67 franchise locations took less than a year to complete.
