New York’s Second Eataly Location Has an Opening Date
Mario Batali & Co.’s Eataly will occupy a 41,000-square-foot space at 4 World Trade Center, as previously announced at an eventlast April by the company’s founder Oscar Farinetti. It appears they’re making serious headway, and the store now has a target opening date of April 14.
Any plans for the market to become a boozy breakfast destination have been nixed, however, as Eataly’s reps backed down from an initial request to start serving booze on the weekdays at 8 a.m. Community Board 1 feared government workers in the area could partake and potentially spend the rest of the day making not-great decisions. Like the Flatiron location, the market will start serving adult beverages at 11:30 a.m.
