You can now treat your beloved to a candlelit V-Day dinner at KFC
LONDON — If you’ve forgotten to book a table for Valentine’s Day, don’t despair. KFC have just pulled one out of the bag with the launch of date night table service, so you can treat your S.O. to a bucket, instead of a bouquet.
This Valentine’s Day, KFC will be trialling a brand new experience; one that takes low-key fried chicken to a fancy new level. Tables will be dressed with linen napkins, silver candelabras, and vases of flowers, and diners will even have their very own soft drink sommelier.
The trial will take place in KFC’s most romantic UK restaurant — situated in Fishergate, near Preston in Lancashire — so called because it once played matchmaker for a local couple.
Back in 1965, Bob and Pat Fogg met at their local branch of KFC in Fishergate, Preston. Now married for 44 years, the couple have shared a weekly date there ever since.
A spokesperson for KFC told Mashable that if the V-Day trial proves successful, they’ll roll out date night dining across UK branches.
“A spicy zinger burger is all you need for love at first bite and our table is perfect for any hot date this Valentine’s Day,” Gary Mather, Regional General Manager said in an official statement.
“Our date night table offers diners the finest window seat with an exclusive view of Fishergate High Street, a perfect setting for our finger lickin’ good chicken.”
